Lorelee Farm in Roberts Creek was the location for a LearnAlong about what to look for when selecting fleece. We were fortunate to have several members there who were generous in sharing their skills and experience, and this is what makes our LearnAlongs so unique and special.

Jeannie Pataky has extensive experience in this subject, and she was there to offer tips and pointers. She summarized the points to keep in mind when selecting a raw fleece. Click here to read her pdf document.

Andrew Jackson has rich experience in processing and spinning fibre from many of the Sunshine Coast breeds, and was happy to share his knowledge. This was an eye-opener for new members not yet familiar with differences in processing and choosing breeds for felting, knitting, etc., and they expressed interest in  focusing on specific breeds at future Learn Alongs. As a result, the next LearnAlong will be Everything Shetland!
