The Sunshine Coast Fibreshed is now collaborating with the Gibsons Repair Café; we will be joining them on the last Saturday of every month at the Gibsons Public Library.
Ann Harmer came with a basket full of socks that needed darning. Here you see her with the repair fellows in the background—they were kept busy for the entire time with a steady stream of “customers.”
Garments can be kept “alive” for many years if cared for and repaired. Jennifer Fog brought a pair of overalls she had worn in the 70s, now being refurbished for her granddaughter with potholders to reinforce the knees and patches to add a bit of whimsy on the back. An intergenerational garment indeed!
