Farm Market Day

Fibreshed members hosted a day featuring fibre produced here on the Coast, at Fibreworks Gallery in Madeira Park. The clear, sunny day required that we provide shade for everyone, and we followed social-distancing protocol throughout. Members of the public enjoyed seeing the processes of taking wool from the raw fleece all the way to a knitted garment.

Fibre artists were presented with an abundance of choice, with a chance to handle different fleeces from Asgard Tog and Thel, Gingerdell Farm, and from sheep raised by Wendy Gilbertson.

Andrea, Alexis, and Wendy examine a beautiful fleece provided by Rodney, who has been an active provider of Fibreshed wool for several years now.

We thank Alexis of Fibreworks for once again providing the venue for us. Here we see her at the sorting screen.

Here’s how some of our Fibreshed members spent a most enjoyable day.
