LearnAlong Via Zoom—Needle Felting
December 5, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Needle felting is one of the many ways of using our beautiful local fibre. It is easy to learn, requires only a few supplies, and is a great way to use small leftover bits of your naturally dyed or natural coloured carded wool.
This LearnAlong is via Zoom. Alexis Bach of Fibreworks Gallery will be joining us to share her expertise and skill in needle felting with local fleece. She will cover the basics and provide demos on how to use the materials for creating lovely little pieces of your choice. Please decide ahead of time what you would like to make, and bring the materials you need.
Fibreshed has local fleece available for sale, in natural colours as well as some dyed with lobster mushrooms, indigo, and a variety of garden plants. Please contact Lynda Daniells at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange your purchase.
-carded fleece in a variety of colours (best to use a plain colour for the inside and the more valuable coloured pieces for the visible sides and embellishment.
-needle felting needles (at least two in case of breakage). Needles are available from Alexis or Sew Easy.
-a felting surface, such as a burlap bag of rice (available from Alexis) or a piece of thick foam to prevent the needle from poking you.
